One of my favorite seasons is coming up; fall! The temperature drops, those pesky summer bugs disappear, and the gorgeous leaves paint Wake Forest with their lovely colors.
There’s nothing better than spending a cozy fall day wrapped in your favorite sweater, picking apples or pumpkins at your local farm, and admiring the changing leaves.
Make the most of this upcoming season with the following list of my favorite Wake Forest activities!
As summer comes to a close, the average temperature drops to a cool 60 degrees in most parts of NC. Many of the bugs that raised havoc over the summer disappear, and the leaves turn gorgeous shades of red and orange.
When you live in North Carolina, almost every day of the year is cool and comfortable, but fall is really something else!
Visit a Farm
Some of the most popular fall activities involve produce. Apples become their ripest during September and October, and visiting an orchard is a fun way to try delicious local apples and sample spicy apple cider.
Things get spooky when October rolls around, and Wake Forest enters pumpkin season! Take a trip to popular Hill Ridge Farms in Youngsville for a wide variety of fun fall and harvest activities.
Take a Hike (or Have a Picnic)
Bring your children or four-legged friend along for company, and have a blast admiring the leaves and scenery of Fall in Wake Forest.
Celebrate Halloween with Friends and Family
Wake Forest’s Halloween Spooktacular is a great way to spend time with friends and neighbors while wearing silly costumes. This annual event is free and features a costume contest, cupcake walk, and face painting.
Ask around for the closest Fall Festival, you’re sure to find one within town that provides ample fun for residents of all ages!
Go For a Ride!
Looking for a little adventure? Because of fall’s fantastic weather, it’s a great time to be outdoors. Head over to Happy Trails Farm for some horseback riding!
There won’t be bugs around to spoil the fun, and you’ll get to traverse the area and admire the sights.
